Checked 19H x 19W x 6D ~ Edition 25 ~ Bronze ~ $3,000 USD
In the heat of the action, this polo player checks his pony with an iron fist,
turning in the saddle to keep his eye on the ball behind him. The pony stops
quickly, elevating his front end, supported by one hind foot, his mouth open
and tongue protruding from the pressure of the bit.
This action-packed piece was on exhibit in 1996 at the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville, KY after being selected in an international juried art show sponsored by the magazine "Equine Images." Of 600 entries received, the judges chose 66 for exhibition. Of those 66 only 13 were sculptures, one of which was "Checked." |
